We Lift as We Climb: Building Strength Together
October is a month of transition. The air turns crips, routine settles right after summer, and we start to reflect on the paths we are walking. Here at Sorogi, our October theme is “We Lift as We Climb”. It reminds us that growth is not an isolated journey. True progress happens when we bring others along, supporting, encouraging and uplifting each other.
Now when we think of climbing, it’s relatively around striving towards personal goals. This could mean building healthier eating habits, improving fitness or just creating a level of balance in our lives. However, within this monthly theme, it extends beyond that traditional understanding of climbing for personal goals. This theme also focuses on lifting each other. Each time we share knowledge, offer encouragement or model health decisions, we make the climb easier for someone else.
In our wellness community this may look like:
A participant sharing their recipe success to inspire others
A member checking in with a friend to join them at a fitness session
An instructor tailoring advice to meet someone where they are
Every act of lifting helps strengthen the collective foundation we stand on.
Lifting as we climb does not require grand gestures. In fact, it's quite the opposite. It is the small steps, such as reminders, encouragements, or just shared experiences that create a lasting impact. Just think about how a single conversation about nutrition, or even joining one Saturday fitness session, can ripple outward. Your journey becomes fuel for someone else’s courage to start theirs.
Throughout October, Sorogi programs will highlight opportunities to both climb and lift:
Cooking demonstrations and grocery tours where participant as not only learn recipes but share stories of how these meals impact their health
1:1 session designed to equip members with the tools in which they can in return share with their communities
Fitness tracks that balance personal achievement with group encouragement, reminding us that process feels stronger together.
As you set your own goals this month, try to ask yourself: Who can I lift as I climb? Maybe it’s a loved one, a family member, a coworker or someone you met in class. By rising together, we honor the truth that our wellness journeys are connected. Lifting others is not just an act of kindness but a moment of collective resilience.
